Tamron is a Japanese domestic & industrial optical manufacturer, formed in 1950, that specialises in third-party lenses & accessories for existing camera systems. Tamron began using the 'SP' lens designation to differentiate its 'Suepr Performance lenses from the rest of its product lineup.
Decades on, the Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD NAF was released in 2015 as an ultra-wide zoom lens for DSLRs, & part of their core SP lens series. This lens is in Nikon F mount, & is only compatible with Nikon F mount SLRs with an on-camera aperture selection dial. This lens has no aperture ring & will only be useable wide open on older, manual Nikon SLRs. This lens offers full in-lens image stabilisation, called Vibration Reduction, is Digitally Integrated, has an Ultrasonic Silent Drive, is of Super Performance specification, & is in a Nikon Auto Focus mount.
